I’m Maya Agur
Passionate traveller, culture enthusiast, and history buff, always seeking new adventures and insights into countries and communities around the world. When not travelling, you’ll find me reading a new book or binge watching the finest British TV dramas.
A little bit of what I do
I joined IFF in 2023, after having worked in three leading social research organisations for the past two decades (two in the UK and one in Israel, my birth country). I specialise in qualitative research and theory-based evaluations, including designing and delivering process and impact evaluation projects. I particularly enjoy multi-year evaluations of large and complex programmes, the more complex the better. Throughout my career I’ve worked in education, careers and skills, plus health and wellbeing policy areas. I’ve developed a particular interest in policies relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, system reform, person-centred approaches and co-production. At IFF I am working in the learning and skills policy area, particularly focussing on early years and schools.
What I’ve achieved
I am passionate about using knowledge and evidence to inform and improve social policies, and feel very fortunate to have found a career doing what I love. I’m particularly proud of projects delivered on personal budgets and service integration which have informed policies in these areas in different sectors in England. I’m also involved in our evaluation training programme – developing materials of applications of different theory-based evaluation approaches. This gives me the opportunity to pass on my enthusiasm about complex evaluation projects to my colleagues.
